Giving Back: I am grateful for the support of my clients and believe it is important to give back. Here are a few of the charities I support:

amfAR, The Foundation for AIDS Research

Founded in 1985, amfAR is dedicated to ending the global AIDS epidemic through innovative research.  With the freedom and flexibility to respond quickly to emerging areas of scientific promise, afAR plays a catalytic role in accelerating the pace of HIV/AIDS research and achieving real breakthroughs. Launched in 2014, afAR's Countdown to a Cure for Aids initiative is aimed at developing the scientific basis of a cure by 2020. Since 1985 afAR has invested more than $517 million in its programs and has awarded more than 3300 grants to research teams worldwide. amfAR has been involved with much of the research that is easing suffering and extending the lives of people all over the world today. James has been a monthly sustaining supporter of amfAR since 1999. www.amfar.org

Friends of Franklin (Community Partner and Former Board Member)

Friends of Franklin raises funds to ensure academic excellence, student enrichment and community building for the students, families, teachers and staff of our Franklin Avenue Elementary. James was the first community partner for Franklin Ave. Elementary and continues to support the school through and ongoing sponsorship. www.franklinavenueschool.org

The illegal wildlife trade is a multi-billion dollar global industry largely driven by consumer demand in expanding economies. While most wildlife conservation groups focus on scientific studies and anti-poaching efforts, WildAid works to reduce global consumption of wildlife products and to increase local support for conservation efforts. We also work with governments and partners to protect fragile marine reserves from illegal fishing and shark finning, to enhance public and political will for anti-poaching efforts, and to reduce climate change impacts. www.wildaid.org

Southern California Public Radio. I am a supporter because public radio matters and keeps me informed in between appointments! Their mission is to strengthen the civic and cultural bonds that unite Southern California's diverse communities by providing the highest quality news and information service through radio and other interactive media.

St. Judes Children's Hospital

The mission of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital is to advance cures, and means of prevention, for pediatric catastrophic diseases through research and treatment. www.stjude.org

Epilepsy Foundation of America

The Epilepsy Foundation is the national voluntary agency dedicated solely to the welfare of the almost 3 million people with epilepsy in the U.S. and their families. The organization works to ensure that people with seizures are able to participate in all life experiences; to improve how people with epilepsy are perceived, accepted and valued in society; and to promote research for a cure. In addition to programs conducted at the national level, people with epilepsy throughout the United States are served by more than 50 Epilepsy Foundation affiliates around the country. https://www.epilepsy.com/

What IF? Foundation

The What If Foundation was created in 2000 by Margaret Trost, a young mother and business owner, and Father Gerard Jean-Juste, a celebrated Haitian human rights activist. Margaret met Father Jeri during an unexpected trip to Haiti and was deeply inspired by his commitment to social justice. Through its programs, the What If? Foundation provides education and food assistance to Haitians in need. https://whatiffoundation.org
